Kevin Conlon has served in many leadership roles in higher education, including as Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Associate Vice President for Curriculum and Instruction, and most recently as Provost. Over the years, Kevin has built an impressive history of developing innovative academic programs. These programs and their intentional connections are designed to develop students' professional capacity as leaders who creativity to shape our communities, drive our culture and enhance our commerce.
Kevin has also worked in great depth with several regional and professional accreditors, including his recent service as a member of the Commission on Accreditation for the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). Other accreditation experiences include work with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Accreditation (SACS-COC), the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). From seeking approval for new programs to comprehensive reaffirmation, and from minor update reports to complete self-studies, Kevin has significant experience with accreditation standards.
In addition to his administrative work, Kevin has also maintained his studio practice for more than 30 years. His artwork is diverse and includes works in bronze, cast resin, concrete, fiberglass and more, as well as oil paintings and works on paper. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Fine Arts from Ohio State University.
